Velebit Mountain was listed by UNESCO in its international network of biosphere reserves
The Velebit mountain range is part of a region known as the Dinaric Alps, and Velebit contains one of this region's most significant peaks, at 1757 meters tall. The Velebit range is around 145 km long, and its average width is 14 km.
This is one of the most interesting areas for leisure tourism and active vacation. Guests can choose from a number of attractions that will fulfill their expectations and emphasize the power and significance of nature that leaves no man indifferent.
Velebit has an abundance of caves, some of which are open for visitors and some of which are earmarked exclusively for the scientific work of speleological teams.
